  • Norwich Recreation Department

    Check the Norwich Recreation Program Listing for current offerings / times/locations. Offerings include:
    • Youth Soccer (Boys and Girls Grades K-6)  (fall)
    • Flag Football (Co-ed, Grades 3-4)  (fall)
    • Junior High Cross-Country Running (fall)
    • Fencing, foil, epee, and sabre  (ages 11+)
    • Lacrosse (6th-8th grade)
    • Kids On Wheels (co-ed grades 3-7)(Biking, Mountain Biking Riding/Safety, Etiquette)
    • Table Tennis (5th grade through adult)

  • Playgrounds and Recreation Areas in Norwich

    • Huntley Meadows:  Tennis Courts, Playing Field, Groomed Cross-Country Ski Trails, Playground, baseball field, soccer field, access to Blood Brook, Story Walk, Great sledding (built for ages 0-6)
    • Marion Cross School:  elementary age playground, playing fields, baseball diamond.
    • Outdoor, Open Ice Skating:  At Marion Cross School when weather allows.
    • Milton Frye Nature Area:  Trails and Natural Areas adjacent to the Marion Cross School


  • Upper Valley Events Center

    Events facility houses numerous private providers offering programs of interest to youth and adults. Programs include:
    • Summer Days Camp: A summer camp which includes plenty of unstructured outdoor play. Also offered during February and April school vacation weeks.
    • Move It Movement CLasses for grades 4&5
    • Children's Yoga Classes: Fall, Winter and Spring classes on Fridays
    • Kids Can Dance Classes

  • Private For-Profit Businesses

    • Upper Valley School of Gymnastics

      Gymnastics in a small, individualized class setting for children ages 4 through high school age.  802-649-1331. Fall and Spring.  Summer soccer/gymnastics camps.
    • Norwich Racquet Club

      Outdoor platform tennis. 802-649-8994

  • Montshire Museum of Science

    The Montshire Museum's offerings includes:
    • 110 acres of woodland and nature trails along the Connecticut River. The trail system connects the Appalachian Trail, which runs from Springer Mountain, Georgia, to Katahdin, Maine, and to a local north-south Greenway trail that extends south of the Museum to Wilder, Vermont. Montshire's trails are easy to walk for people of all ages and fitness levels. The trail system is also the setting for many outdoor activities, and offers an opportunity to encounter wildlife while still at the Museum. Fox kits, grouse, bear, moose and deer are but a few of the many animals that have been recently spotted.
    • Summer Camps that focus on helping children ages 4 through 8th grade explore the outdoors.

  • Norwich Farmers' Market

    The Norwich Farmers' Market is open Saturdays, 9am-1pm, May to October, on Route 5 headed south from Norwich. The Norwich Farmers' Market also offers a Winter Market on various weekend days during the winter.
  • Co-op Community Garden

    The Co-op Community Garden is located on Route 5 South from Norwich, and has twenty 20'x20' plots available for members of the Hanover Co-Op to use for a fee.  Send an e-mail for more information.
