We found out today that our long and
short term medical insurance premiums are going to rated based on a wellness score. The score is based on biometrics, things like BP, BMI, weight, heart rate, and other basic health indicators. Better than average scores get lower rates. Higher than average scores pay more. It is not unlike car insurance. Good drivers have lower rates than bad drivers. In this case, healthy people have better rates than unhealthy. It may not seem fair at first, but it may help people in the long run get into shape. An interesting concept.
