On September 2, Hanover Street School PE teacher, Nancy Wright began what will be a year long bike trip that will take her around the perimeter of the United States. While biking the 11,000 miles she will be taking breaks along the way to visit with school children to talk about her trip and biking safety. Follow her progress on her website.

Excerpt from her website:
THE BLUE BIKE PERIMETER TRIP IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF PAUL LACAILLADE.The main purpose of the trip is to encourage people to ride more and to ride safely! I also hope to: raise awareness of, and raise funds for, organizations which advocate for cycling safety, education and promotion; connect various aspects of the trip with curriculum for teachers to use with their students; and to promote cycling, and all physical activity, as a way to reverse the obesity epidemic. The trip will begin on September 2nd, 2009 and will end approximately 11,000 miles later in August, 2010! The route will take me from Vermont down the East Coast to Key West, Florida; up the west coast of Florida and to New Orleans; across the Southern Tier to San Diego; up the West Coast as far as Seattle; and finally, across the Northern Tier back to Vermont. On this site, I hope to post photos and videos from the trip, and to include links to resources related to cycling. A journal of my travels will also be included.
